How do I sign up?To sign up, select a Pricing Plan, enter your details and complete payment information when prompted.

How does the free trial work?When you sign up for either Monthly or Yearly membership, you get 14 days to see if my harmonica school is right for you. If you decide to cancel before the end of the free trial, you won't be charged a penny. If you decide to keep your membership, you will be charged after the end of the trial period.

What type of harmonica do I need?My lessons are for diatonic harmonica. I recommend a Hohner Special 20. You can purchase one by clicking here*. Any diatonic harmonica in the key of C is a good place to start, although some lessons use different keys where appropriate. *if you use this link please note that I get a small payment from Amazon. You do not need to use this link.

Can I cancel at any time?Yes. If you want to cancel your membership, click My Account in the menu. Go to My Subscriptions and click Cancel. Alternatively, I can cancel your account for you if you email me with your request.

When can I access lessons?As soon as you've signed up! You can log in on any device at any time.

How do I log in?Click the Log In page and enter your account details. Make sure to fill in the 'Log In' from not the 'Sign Up' form or you will get a message saying that an account already exists for that email address.

How long will I get to access the lessons for?The school is a subscription service. You can choose either a Monthly or Yearly subscription. As long as you remain a member, you can keep coming back as many times as you like. If you cancel your membership, you will lose access to all lessons and materials.

How long do I have to sign up for?You can sign up for a single month and cancel at any time if it's not for you, but you'll save more if you sign up for a full year in advance. (Please note: you need to choose Monthly or Yearly payments before starting your free trial.)

Can I use my phone or iPad to watch lessons?Yes, you can log in on any device at any time.

What payment methods do you accept?You can pay via debit/credit card or PayPal. Simply select Monthly or Yearly membership and proceed through checkout.

What currency are payments in?Payments are in US dollars, but currencies will be automatically converted for you. I have students worldwide!

I am trying to sign up and it says I already have an account. Why?If you've ordered a premium lesson or course from my store before, you may have created a login so you could save your details for future purchases. This means your email address is already on the system. You can either click 'Forgot Password?' to change your password, or use a different email address to sign up.

Will I get feedback on my progress?Yes, you can post video or audio (or just ask a question) in the private members forum. I give constructive advice and guidance tailored to your specific learning style and level. Of course, there is no obligation if you'd prefer not to share anything.

Are there any blues lessons included?Yes! You will get access to the Blues School which includes step-by-step blues courses plus more than 40 detailed studies of the greatest harp songs of all time, by the likes of Little Walter, Big Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson, William Clarke and Howlin' Wolf.

How does your school differ from your free YouTube lessons?The school contains totally exclusive content: courses that go into more detail than my YouTube lessons and cover some topics that my free lessons don’t. School courses are step-by-step lessons on a specific topic. I have written and recorded then exclusively for paying customers so you won't find them anywhere on YouTube.

Do you use tabs or music notation in your lessons?I use a tab system in my lessons. The main reason I use tabs rather than notation is that it is the way I learned to play: I learned in an active, practical environment rather than a theoretical one, so that's the way I teach. I believe tabs help you to use your ears rather than eyes to feel and internalise the rhythm. Tab also has the advantage of being "transposable" on to any key of harp. Music notation works best for some people and it is certainly a fantastic tool but it's definitely not necessary in order to learn an instrument.

In what order do I follow the lessons?You can watch any lesson you like at any time, as many times as you want, and you can dip in and out as you please. This way you'll be able to tailor your experience to your own learning style.

Can I download the lessons and tabs?You can download tabs and resources but not the lessons, which are streamable on the Members Zone lesson page only. Really want to download a lesson? All premium lessons and courses can be purchased individually and downloaded without joining the harmonica school (but it's a lot cheaper on average to become a member and stream them).

I bought a lesson/course and I can't log in. What's going on?If you bought something from my store, you are not a member of the harmonica school. The Premium Lessons store sells individual lessons and courses, for a one-off fee, which you can then download and keep. It's a sort of "pay-as-you-go" system. The harmonica school is a different process entirely: members get access to all of my premium courses and classes for a recurring monthly fee. As a member, all lessons are streamed via the harmonica school (not downloadable). To compare with the real world, imagine you could either: (1) Join a library, visit whenever you want to read any book in the whole building while you're there. (2) Buy a specific book to take home and keep. Option 1 is like joining my School, option 2 is like buying from my Store. If you would like to "upgrade" from an individual purchase to a fully fledged member, let me know and I'll arrange it for you.
